Mercedez brings 15 years of insurance experience to our team and is licensed in Property & Casualty, Life, and Health for customers in both Illinois and Iowa. That means she has the expertise to help customers understand coverage options clearly and confidently—whether you’re looking at Auto, Home, or Life insurance.
What makes Mercedez especially valuable to our team is her unique background: before coming to Jenn Merema State Farm, she gained valuable experience working in a broker environment. Having spent 6 years with Jenn Merema State Farm, Mercedez also brings proven leadership to our day-to-day operations. You may even see Brad cruising around in his Nissan Z, or walking his Australian Shepherd, Riley. He also spends a lot of time on his family’s farm, where he enjoys the hands-on, outdoors lifestyle.
Brad has been with the Jenn Merema–State Farm office since June 2021. Kayla joined the Jenn Merema State Farm team in January 2022 and brings her deep State Farm expertise to serve the Quad Cities from our Rock Island, IL office. Born and raised right here in the QCA, she takes pride in helping local individuals and families understand their coverage and make confident insurance decisions.
With licenses in both Illinois and Iowa, Kayla is qualified to help you with Property & Casualty, as well as Life and Health coverage. Whether you’re asking questions, comparing options, or updating your policy, she focuses on explaining the details clearly—so you feel informed and protected.
Kayla’s approach reflects strong experience and authority in the details of insurance. Just as importantly, she’s committed to trustworthy, personalized customer service. Meet the Team: Julie, Account Manager
Julie’s journey has taken her across the United States—and even overseas—before bringing her back to her hometown in Southern Illinois. She graduated from Eastern Illinois University, where she met her husband, David, who served in the Army. Their military life took them to Kentucky, Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, Texas, Kansas, Germany, and Hawaii. After David retired in 2021, they returned to Southern Illinois, where they now reside together. Julie also has two adult children—Kate and Jack.
During her time abroad, Julie earned her master’s degree in elementary education and taught first grade in Virginia and Hawaii. After returning to Illinois, she took a break from teaching and found a new career path with State Farm, supporting customers in a service-focused role. Julie values the flexibility of her position and enjoys working with different State Farm offices—bringing her experience, professionalism, and people-first mindset to help customers with Property & Casualty needs.
Julie is licensed in Property & Casualty insurance in both Illinois and Iowa, and she plays an important role in our office as an Account Manager. She’s dedicated to exceptional customer service, helping ensure customers feel supported and informed when they need assistance with their policies.
